Caring and collaborative

Our tutoring staff consists of students who have demonstrated strong writing and interpersonal skills and have been recommended by professors. Once hired, tutors participate in a semester-long training course to learn the fundamentals of peer tutoring in writing. Our goal: To serve students in a caring, collaborative environment to give them the tools to become better, confident writers.

Drop in or sign up

The Writing Center offers both drop-in hours and appointments. Writers can bring projects to drop-in hours without an appointment for help on a first-come, first-served basis. Writers can also schedule an appointment with a tutor by visiting WC Online at // to schedule a 30-minute session with one of our tutors.

Face-to-Face tutoring sessions are recommended for students on campus. E-tutoring, where students upload their work or questions to a tutor who provides commentary and feedback in writing is available for online students.

All assignments welcome

Any and all writing projects are welcome in the Writing Center. Writers working on projects in any academic discipline, from history and nursing to business and criminal justice, can visit the Writing Center for help. Our tutors can also assist with résumés, cover letters, and job applications for those seeking internships and who are about to graduate. In addition, the tutors know APA, MLA, and Chicago/Turabian styles and can help you with citation and integration of source material.
